A single liquid chromatography procedure to concentrate, separate and collect size-selected polyynes produced by pulsed laser ablation in water

چکیده

Polyynes are linear carbon chains characterized by alternated single and triple bonds terminated hydrogen or other terminal substituents. They can be synthesized pulsed laser ablation in liquid (PLAL) as a scalable, cost-effective, fast physical technique. Water employed solvent for PLAL to avoid toxicity problems reduce costs compared organic solvents. However, this case, the production yield of polyynes reached is extremely low prevents further characterization implementation new functional materials. In work, we water optimized process parameters improve PLAL. Then, developed procedure entirely based on reversed-phase high-performance chromatography (RP-HPLC) which effectively enables concentration, separation collection according their length. Since sample an aqueous solution, could inject it directly into RP-HPLC column without dilution step required case solvent. Thanks our procedure, possible highly increase concentration separately characterize different size-selected use
